VOID : PROJECTS

... a small, family run, architectural practice based in Cheltenham, with over 30 years of experience in solving problems and catering to our clients' individual needs. Your building project is unique - no one else has your needs or budget. So - looking for an architect in Cheltenham or Gloucester? You're in the right place.

What sort of work do we offer? Equally at home with house extensions, alterations, or even whole houses, we are also happy to work with new or historic buildings, with industrial, commercial, or public building projects. With a portfolio ranging from a small porch up to an award winning corporate headquarters building we really do mean that!

Although based in Cheltenham, we work across much of Gloucestershire and into Worcestershire. In fact, we have completed projects from Truro to Reading and Windermere. And now also working in Scotland, we can truly offer work across the whole country.

“All clients, sites and projects are different and unique. The buildings we design are not ours – they’re yours; our role is to work with you to exceed your expectations.”
Peter Ireland. Architect at Void:Projects

About...

Peter
Peter Ireland
... is a founder of VOID, and has led its architectural work throughout. With over 30 years experience across a wide range of building types and needs he has the skills required to realise most projects. Based in Cheltenham he has a great knowledge of its unique qualities, but is equally at home in other areas with completed projects across the country from Truro to Reading and Cumbria. He has worked closely with many clients over the years to realise their visions and projects.

He has many other interests - from car building to theatre design and performance to woodwork, gardening and most recently boat restoration. These give him a great understanding of practical issues and inform and enrich all the projects he has worked on.

The practice has been closely allied to other architectural and interior design practices, working on projects across the country:

  • Hanson Walford Marston in Kendal, on several Lakeland projects
  • Tyack Architects, for St. Hilda's College, Oxford, several housing schemes
  • Stanley Partnership, for Truro College
  • Criteria Design, on nightclub interiors
  • Gillard Associates, Cardiff, specialists in Sustainable Design; projects for Lakeland, Atlantic College, Swansea Housing Association, and other house schemes.

VOID:projects...

...was set up by Peter Ireland (architect) and Liz Swift (writer & dramatist) as a wide ranging and flexible company to work in architecture, theatre, and the area between.
Peter Ireland leads its architectural work; he has been a practising architect for over 30 years, so we have plenty of experience to call on.
Liz Swift is a writer and lecturer with several internationally published papers.
